Description
Bob and Laura (Ward) Day celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary with their family at Vona’s Restaurant.  Bob and Laura were married December 27, 1948 at St. Mary’s church in Oswego.  Bob, a World War II Veteran, returned from the Army in 1966 after 21 years of service.  He went to work at Hammermill Paper Co. as a foreman in the Finishing Department.  He retired from Hammermill after 20 years.  Bob enjoyed all kinds of sports; his favorite being basketball.  His greatest thrill was playing against the original Harlem Globe Trotters in 1947. Laura retired from the Department of Motor Vehicles after 19 years of service.  She also participated in many sports including golf and bowling.  Laura also enjoys knitting, playing Bridge, and baking cookies. Bob and Laura were blessed with one son, Robert E. Day, Jr. (Jody) who was born in Anchorage, Alaska in 1953.  Jody married Sherry (Burritt) Day and together they had three children; Robert, III, Michael, and Lori.  Bob and Laura are also the proud great grandparents of Noah and Xavier.
