Mary E. MacDonald and Karl R. Ackerman celebrated the joyful finale of their Wedding Trilogy with family and friends at their home, Rest.Stop.Ranch, in Topsfield, MA on October 13, 2012. An outdoor liturgy in the heart of the wheelchair accessible MargFMac Front Garden Loop included live harp and percussion by Nancy and Philip Hurrell, and dancers from CREDO Liturgical Dance Company. Kenneth Himes OFM of Boston College presided. A dinner reception at the home followed. Guests received a copy of their 100-page self-published photo book, Early Gardens at Rest.Stop.Ranch. Karl and Mary were married in their Meditation Garden on Saint Valentine’s Day, February 14, by Paula Burke, Topsfield Town Clerk and Justice of the Peace. In May, they made a 10-day pilgrimage to Assisi, Italy with Spiritual Directors International to walk the footsteps of Saint Francis and Saint Clare. Mary is the daughter of Margaret Fraser MacDonald (deceased) and Joseph MacDonald of Cicero, NY. Karl is the son of Janice Ackerman of North Chelmsford, MA and Clint Ackerman of Wilmington, MA. Mary is a certified Life Coach, Group Leader, and Kripalu Yoga Teacher. She holds a Master’s degree in Pastoral Ministry from Boston College and graduated Phi Beta Kappa from the University of Rochester with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and German. Mary is a graduate of North Syracuse Schools (K-12). Karl holds a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from Rivier College and is a graduate of Westford Academy. Mary is the founder of Marymac Missions LLC, a social enterprise that offers holistic health programs for individuals, couples and families affected by extended illness. Mary speaks, teaches, coaches and consults family members and professionals throughout the U.S. and internationally. Karl works in the high-tech industry creating computer security software. Karl and Mary reside in Topsfield, Massachusetts with their dog, Miss Honey.
