Karen Summers and Brantley Michael Deaton wish to announce their recent engagement.

Karen is the Daughter of Bruce and Anita Summers of Traverse City, Michigan. A graduate of Traverse City Central High School, she received a Bachelor’s degree from Syracuse University and a master’s degree in social work from the University of Michigan. Karen is a service coordinator for area seniors with Christopher Community in Syracuse.

Mike is the son of Brantley Deaton of Pulaski and the late Dorothy Boase of Panama City, Florida. He graduated from Pulaski Academy and Central School and received a bachelor’s degree from United Wesleyan College in Allentown, Pennsylvania. Mike is the purchasing manager at Deaton’s Building and Home Center, Inc. in Pulaski.

Karen and Mike are planning a September 2013 wedding in Traverse City, Michigan.
