John and Mary McCulley of Liverpool, New York, are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Amanda, to Dr. Michael Palese of New York City. Michael is the son of Dr. Peter and Mady Palese of Leonia, New Jersey. Amanda is the granddaughter of Lucille and the late Jack McCulley of Camillus and the late Gabriel and Justina Mazzeo of Auburn. Michael is the grandson of Elisabeth and the late Kurt Palese of Linz, Austria and the late Herbert and Gertraut LÖcker of Linz, Austria.
Amanda, a graduate of Liverpool High School, received her BS in Nutrition Management from Rochester Institute of Technology and a Master of Public Health from University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry. She is a Registered Dietician and manages the Nutrition Services Department for the PACE program at ArchCare Senior Life in New York City.
Michael, a graduate of Leonia High School, received his BA in Biology and German studies from Cornell University and a Doctorate of Medicine from the Mount Sinai School of Medicine. Michael completed his residency in Urology at the University of Maryland Medical System in Baltimore, MD and a Robotic and Laparoscopic Fellowship at the New York-Presbyterian Weill Cornell Medical Center. Michael is an Associate Professor and the Director of Minimally Invasive Surgery in the Department of Urology at the Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York City.
The couple became in engaged in October of 2012 during a trip to Sicily.
A July 2013 wedding is planned in Skaneateles.
