NATIONAL SAFETY COUNCIL 6 HOUR DEFENSIVE DRIVING CLASS ONLINE FOR NEW YORK DRIVERS ONLY.
SAVE ON AUTO INSURANCE AND REDUCE POINTS. APPROVED BY THE NEW YORK STATE DEPARTMENT OF MOTOR VEHICLES.
ADVANTAGES
You can complete the class at your leisure at home or office. You have 30 days from the day you start to complete the class.
You get the same benefits as if you completed this class in a classroom. a) Up to 4 points reduced from your driving record. The violation will remain on your driving abstract. b) Up to a 10% insurance discount for 3 years on liability, collision and P.I.P. premiums. For many people this saves hundreds a year.
DISADVANTAGES
The D.M.V. requires that all online classes provide an exam which must be passed. The exams are fairly easy and you can take them as many times as you need at no extra cost to pass the class.
Classroom DDC classes do not require a test.
There is no student to student interaction which can be helpful in understanding other drivers and attitudes.
It is recommended that you attend a classroom program if possible.
Only take the NY certified class. If you take any other online class you may not receive certification.
