Legal Advertisement Invitation to Bid Big Cypress Housing Corporation and Hatchers Preserve LLC hereby advertises on January 29th, 2015 its solicitation to construct 18 single-family homes situated in Hatchers Preserve, a platted and approved subdivision located on Westclox Street in Immokalee Florida. The scope of work includes one-story, single-family homes of concrete-block stucco construction, wood truss and asphalt shingle roofing. Site work generally includes fill, landscaping, sidewalks and driveways; substantial infrastructure work (e.g. water, sewer, paving and electrical) has previously been completed. All sealed bids are to be received no later than 2:00 PM, Friday, February 20th, 2015, at the Reserve at Eden Gardens Apartments located at 1375 Boxwood Drive, Immokalee, FL 34142. . Plans and Specifications may be obtained by contacting the project architect, Ted Hoffman, at 863-674-0499 or email at thoff44@gmail.com. These bids will be opened and recorded on February 20th, 2015 at 2:00 PM. Each bid shall be accompanied by a certified or cashiers check or bid bond in an amount of not less than five percent (5%) of the total bid. For contracts over $100,000, a one hundred percent (100%) payment and performance bond will be required. A non-mandatory pre-bid meeting will be held on Monday, February 9th, 2015 at 11:00 AM, at the Reserve at Eden Gardens at 1375 Boxwood Drive, Immokalee FL 34142. Funding for this project is provided in part by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and Florida Department of Economic Opportunity (FDEO). The Grant Numbers are as follows: HOME M-08-UC-12-0217; M-09-UC-12-0217; M-10-UC-12-0217; M-11-UC-12-0217; M-12-UC-12-0217 and M-13-UC-12-0217; CDBG 2004 B-04-UC-12-0016; DRI/DREF #12DB-P5-09-21-01-K39, #07DB-3V-09-21-01-Z01, #08DB-D3-09-21-01-A03; and #10DB-D4-09-21-01-K09. Small, Minority, Women, and Section 3 businesses are encouraged to submit a bid. Procurement is in accordance with 24 CFR 85.36. Licensed contractors are encouraged to solicit bids from minority and female-owned subcontractors and efforts for such will need to be documented before award. The purpose of Section 3 is to ensure employment and other economic opportunities generated by HUD-assisted projects covered by Section 3, shall to the greatest extent feasible, be directed to lowand very low-income persons, particularly persons who are recipients of HUD assistance for housing. This is a HUD Section 3 construction contract.
