This position provides a variety of stabilization, employment and training related services, specifically designed for ReHire Colorado participates, who are low-income Colorado residents with special emphases on serving Veterans, persons over 50 years of age, and non-custodial parents.  The program is designed to place these individuals into subsidized, transitional jobs to build skills leading to long-term unsubsidized employment.  Assessments will be completed to identify employment barriers.  The Employment Specialist will facilitate services for each participant which include a uniquely tailored Placement Agreement(s) resulting in the gaining and maintaining of sustainable employment.  Education & training will be provided to all participants by internal and as needed external education resources.  The Employment Specialist represents the department and the ReHire Colorado Program by participating in and conducting a variety of marketing activities with potential employers, community organization, nonprofit and service organizations, trade and industry groups and individual business owners.

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Human Services, Special Education, Business Administration, Marketing, or a closely related field, previous experience in employment services, Employment Consultant Certification (can be obtained upon hire), 2 years experience working with persons from a variety of social, cultural, economic and education backgrounds, valid driver's license and proof of insurance, ability to design/conduct presentations/training to large and small groups, demonstrated effective mediation and facilitation skills.

Preferred Qualifications: Prior Military service and/or experience working with the Military, ability to speak Spanish fluently, previous experience in employment services for Veterans, people with disabilities / employment barriers, and workforce service providers.

Duties:
• Developing a thorough understanding of all manufacturing processes and product lines
• Developing new product ideas and managing the development of such products
• Creating product samples
• Refining product designs based on testing and feedback
• Developing and publishing product specifications and other technical documentation
• Specifying equipment requirements for the development of new products and product improvement
• Assisting in product costing as required, Reviewing & reporting on potential Cost of Production (COP) reductions for processes and
equipment and implementation of economic improvement program
 
Requirements:
• Engineering Degree (4+ years) and at least 1 year of experience in a manufacturing environment
• Experience with UHMWPE Fibers
• Verifiable product development background and proven track record of success
• Six Sigma Black Belt training preferred with demonstrated working knowledge of methodologies
• Working knowledge of 5S
• Advanced experience in Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, & PowerPoint required
• Experience in Crystal Reports, & Minitab software knowledge preferred
• Familiarity with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a manufacturing environment
• Ability to effectively work with, manage, and/or guide subordinates, co-workers, and team members
