The City of Glenwood Springs  Fleet Department is currently accepting
applications for a
Full-Time Repair Tech I

General examples of duties:
Perform skilled and semi-skilled work in the maintenance and repair of all types of vehicles and equipment, gas and diesel powered, while working under the broad supervision of the Fleet Maintenance Superintendent. This position requires an extensive working knowledge to perform major mechanical and electrical repairs, complex tune-ups (gas and diesel), in-depth diagnostics on any type of system, and any other type of repair on all equipment in the City's Fleet. This is the lead mechanic position in the City Fleet Maintenance Department.
 
Required knowledge, skills and abilities:     
Must be able to read and completely understand various repair manuals, computer based diagnostic platforms, and any other technical data needed to perform the above listed jobs at a high level of competency. Must also possess a complete set of hand tools to perform the required jobs. The City supplies special tools and diagnostic equipment. Minimum qualifications include; graduation from high school or GED with at least six (6) years of actual hands-on automotive, truck and equipment experience with two (2) years of welding and fabrication experience or a combination of education and experience which produces the required knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the jobs detailed. Must possess a valid State of Colorado driver's license and be able to obtain a CDL, Class "A" driver's license with air brake and tanker endorsements within 90 days of employment.

Starting Salary:
$23.02 to $27.63 DOE
