This position is
experienced in clinical mental health, individual, group and family
interventions, and will serve as the Clinical Director overseeing program
services at the facility. This position implements decisions, makes
recommendations, and evaluates needs based on practice, theory, or
principle. The position is expected to bring clinical direction to
behavioral health staff, including monitoring services within the
facility.  Services include supervision of staff in areas of program
implementation, documentation, individual, family and group services,
confidentiality, and integration of care. This position assists the
Facility Director and Assistant Director over Program Services in
determining compliance with DYC policies and audit standards. This position
maintains an integrated model based on the diverse population at Grand
Mesa.

Clinical Supervision:  Takes responsibility for performance management including
appraisal of clinicians and Youth Services Counselor I's.  Provide
oversight for Special Management Programs to assess appropriateness of program
and compliance of DYC policies.  Complete and review supervisory
plans for subordinates of the treatment personnel this unit
supervises.  Plan for and direct the professional development
of behavioral health staff, consult for the training of security
staff in the area of behavior management/programming, train to relevant
standards of policy and procedure, may create and monitor staff work schedules,
may participate in the progressive disciplinary process, assign duties to first
line supervisors, investigates and evaluates all other personnel issues. The
position implements decisions, makes recommendations, and evaluates individual
cases based on practice, theory, or principle, and experience at an advanced
level confirmed by licensing.

Program Delivery: Designs programs and develops strategies for
accomplishing the goals and objectives of agency
programming.  Evaluate the effectiveness of the facility's mental
health and psychiatric services, and other services offered to youth and
families. Plans for, develops, and audits procedures to assure that DYC
standards are met, interprets and applies standards to workplace, apprises
administration of issues related to above.  Monitors and evaluates
program component and/or practices for quality and effectiveness; makes
recommendations for improvement.
 
Program Maintenance:  Sets priorities, reviews and approves
curricula for all groups at Grand Mesa.  Sets group schedule and
ensures gender specific programming.   This position assists in
developing, implementing and monitoring agency goals.  The position
monitors completion of group and individual notes and treatment plans/Next Step
Plans.  Also ensures that Case Conceptualization Model is being
utilized. Facilitates weekly CRT using the CRT Model. 

Provide Services: Conducts individual, group, and family therapy
sessions for the acutely challenging youth using evidence-based curriculum.
These theories will be relevant to the needs of the youth, considering their
age, ethnicity, cultural beliefs, and religious beliefs.  to affect
behavior change and the enhancement of strength-based thoughts, actions, and
emotions.  Interpret treatment issues, problems, expectation, and
changes in behavior for residents and families.  Document and assess
the effectiveness of specific interventions toward meeting the objectives and
goals of treatment plan.  Sit in on group, individual and family
sessions to ensure the provider is delivering relevant and effective
services.
