Job Announcement #07-18 CITY OF BUCKLEY PW Utility Clerk: JOB #07-18, 2019 Salary Range $3,218 to $4,034/MO, + excellent benefits! This is a permanent part-time position (30 hrs per week) FLSA non-exempt position, Union membership is required. Under the general supervision of the Public Works Director, this position provides administrative support to the Public Works Department by assisting with processing, receiving, accepting, routing, reviewing, and issuing permits relating to street right-of-way and various utilities. This position will also be preparing correspondence, maintaining records and files, serving as secretary in meetings, performing general clerical support, assisting the public and assisting in the administration of operating policies and procedures. This position involves records management, following records retention procedures as prescribed by state law and a high level of organization skills. This position is also responsible for preparation of all utility billing activities, including distribution, adjusting bills, entering daily billing receipts, reviewing utility billing activity reports and computer runs to correct billing errors and sets up utility billing accounts for the City’s current and future utilities customers. This position also requires a basic knowledge of civil construction standards and utility codes related to the issuance of various permits. Work also involves analysis of factual information requirement judgment to select appropriate guidelines and procedures. Min qual; Education and Training: Required: Graduation from high school or GED equivalent. Three years+ of increasingly responsible customer service experience preferably in a Public Works or Utility related office. Basic understanding of municipal government procedures and codes. Two years+ of basic accounting with a concentration on utilities and customer service required. Advanced data entry, report compilation and written communication skills are required. Excellent interpersonal , customer service and/or verbal communication skills are required. Possession of or ability to obtain a Washington State Notary Public certification within six months.
