RESOURCE CAPTAIN The Quinault Natural Resources Enforcement program is looking to fill the position of Captain of Resource Enforcement. The Captain is responsible to direct the activities and field operations of the Quinault Natural Resources Enforcement program and reports directly to the Chief of Police. Incumbents have arrest authority and require commissioning as law enforcement officers by the Quinault Nation Tribal Court Chief Judge or Chief of Police. The Captain is Responsible for twenty-four (24) hour administrative and supervisory responsibilities of the Resource Protection Department to conduct patrols, investigations, and regulatory enforcement of wildlife and fisheries enforcement, and protection of forest resources. Direct assigned unit(s) Natural Resource enforcement activities and supervise Natural Resource and security personnel assigned to unit(s); participate in unit(s) activities, including patrol duties. Must have Bachelor’s degree in criminal justice, police science, public administration, business administration, or allied field. Five years’ experience in law enforcement as a commissioned officer. Two years minimum in a supervisory or management position, and a minimum of three years’ experience in a natural resource enforcement position. An equivalent combination of education and/or experience may substitute for two years of the education requirement. Must have completed a state or federal certified law enforcement academy and maintain a current law enforcement certification. Must be in good physical condition and able to pass physical examination and written exam. Must be able to pass drug, polygraph and psychological tests. Must submit to a background check. Possess or have the ability to possess a valid Washington State driver license within the lawful specified period after commencement of employment if from out of the state.
