CITY OF ARLINGTON NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING ARLINGTON CASCADE INDUSTRIAL CENTER PLANNED ACTION FINAL ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT STATEMENT PUBLIC NOTICE: Pursuant to Governor Inslee’s Proclamation 20-28, in an effort to curtail the spread of the COVID-19 virus, Public Hearings will take place online. The staff and members of the public will not attend in person. Staff will be located at 18204 59th Avenue NE, Arlington, WA 98223 Applicant: City of Arlington File Name and Number: Cascade Industrial Center EIS PLN#732 Location: The proposed study area is the Arlington Cascade Industrial Center encompassing about 2,291 acres surrounding and including the Arlington Municipal Airport (AWO). Project Description: The proposal is to adopt a Planned Action consistent with RCW 43.21c.440 and associated Comprehensive Plan amendments to address necessary capital investments that study implementation of the Arlington-Marysville Manufacturing Industrial Center (AMMIC) Subarea Plan. Opportunity sites identified in the subarea plan are evaluated for potential job growth and mix that meet the subarea plan vision, goals, and intent for jobs in aerospace, advanced manufacturing, food processing, maritime, wood products and mass timber. The current Comprehensive Plan (No Action) and two Action Alternatives are studied for a wide range of jobs and land uses as well as capital needs. Action alternatives also consider options for Edgecomb Creek realignment and restoration. Testimony: All persons have the right to submit written testimony to the appropriate permit-issuing authority and to appear at the public hearing to give testimony orally. In order to follow Governor Inslee’s Proclamation 20-28, meeting being held via Zoom, the Record of the hearing will be extended for two days after the hearing to allow for public comment.
