SNOHOMISH COUNTY COUNCIL SNOHOMISH COUNTY, WASHINGTON NOTICE OF INTRODUCTION OF ORDINANCE and NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, that the Snohomish County Council will hold a public hearing on Monday, October 25, 2021, at the hours of 10:30 a.m. and 6:00 p.m., via Zoom remote meeting platform to consider Proposed Ordinance No. 21-091. Zoom Webinar link: https://zoom.us/j/94846850772 Dial in: (253) 215 8782 or (301) 715 8592 Meeting ID: 948 4685 0772 PROPOSED ORDINANCE NO. 21-091 RELATING TO COUNTY BUDGETS AND BUDGET PROCEDURES, PROVIDING FOR ANNUAL BUDGETS, REMOVING AUTHORITY TO ADOPT A BIENNIAL BUDGET FOR THE PERIOD BEGINNING JANUARY 1, 2023, AND REPEALING SCC 4.26.017 WHEREAS, by Amended Ordinance No. 20-009 the County Council authorized the County to implement biennial budgeting beginning with the 2023-2024 biennium as provided by the County Charter, state law, and county code; and WHEREAS, the County Council finds that given the Covid-19 pandemic which started in 2020, and the subsequent continuing impacts to the needs of the citizens and the fluctuating economic and resource needs, it would be in the best interests of the County to adopt annual budgets for the period beginning January 1, 2023, and thereafter as provided herein; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED: Section 1. Snohomish County Code Section 4.26.017, adopted by Amended Ordinance No. 20-009, on February 26, 2020, is repealed. At the hearing, Council may consider alternatives/amendments to the proposed ordinance. Public Testimony: All interested persons may testify at the time and place indicated above or by remote participation. The chair of the council may choose to limit testimony to three minutes in the interest of accommodating all persons wishing to testify.
