JOB ANNOUNCEMENT FULL-TIME DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC WORKS The City of McCleary, situated 15 miles west of Olympia with an approximate population of 1834, seeks a Director of Public Works. This is a permanent, full-time, FLSA exempt position. Current salary range is $6,878.75 – $10,417.00, depending upon qualifications. The Director of Public Works is primarily responsible for the City’s public works operations to include electrical utilities, water treatment plant, streets, parks and cemetery. Anticipated growth and increase to population within the next decade make the position of Director of Public Works an exciting opportunity for a person with experience with municipal or similar public works. A Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, construction management, project management or related field plus seven years of progressively responsible experience in the public works field to include three years in a supervisory/management capacity or a combination of education, training and experience which provides a background sufficient to perform the work of the position.
