POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT PACIFIC COUNTY DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS ACCOUNTANT (Full Time) Pacific County Department of Public Works has an opening for an Accountant. This position performs a variety of responsible, complex and diverse internal audit, cost accounting and/or budgeting duties at a fully-skilled level to prepare and maintain accounting, budget and other fiscal records and data associated with the functions of the Department of Public Works. One of the main job duties for this accountant position will be doing payroll for the Department of Public Works. Payroll data entry and payroll balancing experience is preferred. Salary: In accordance with Local 367C Union Contract compensating schedule for Grade 12, Step 1, $3,751 – Step 10, $4,832. A prorated benefit package will be offered after successful completion of a six (6) month probationary period. Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent with knowledge equivalent to a bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or business administration, plus two (2) years working experience as a Junior Accountant; OR demonstrated equivalent combination of education and/or experience that provides the applicant with attributes as described in job description.
