SNOHOMISH COUNTY COUNCIL Snohomish County, Washington NOTICE OF INTRODUCTION OF ORDINANCE AND NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, that the Snohomish County Council will hold a public hearing on Wednesday, February 8, 2023, at the hour of 10:30 a.m., and continuing thereafter as necessary, in the Henry M. Jackson Board Room, 8th Floor, Robert J. Drewel Building, 3000 Rockefeller, Everett, Washington, in conjunction with a remote meeting platform via the following Zoom link to consider proposed Ordinance No. 22-076, titled: INCREASING THE NUMBER OF CONSECUTIVE TERMS A PLANNING COMMISSIONER MAY SERVE FROM TWO TO THREE; AMENDING SECTION 2.08.080 OF SNOHOMISH COUNTY CODE Zoom Webinar Information: Join online at or by telephone call 1-253-215-8782 or 1-301-715-8592 Background: This ordinance would increase the maximum number of complete consecutive terms a planning commissioner may serve from two to three. It also makes housekeeping changes in the affected code section. A summary of the proposed ordinance is as follows: PROPOSED ORDINANCE NO. 22-076 Section 1. Amends SCC 2.08.080 to allow planning commissioners to serve three complete consecutive terms. It also standardizes capitalization in the section and corrects an error in reference. Amendments: The County Council may consider amendments to the proposed ordinance, including an amendment that would clarify that after at least a two-year absence from the commission, a person may be appointed again to no more than three complete consecutive terms. The County Council may continue the hearing to another date to allow additional public testimony thereafter, if deemed necessary.
