PATROL OFFICER: CITY OF MEDINA. Medina Civil Service Commission will hold an open, competitive written exam to establish an eligibility list for PATROL OFFICER for the City of Medina on Wednesday, June 02, 2021. At time of appointment, applicants must have a high school diploma or equivalent, have attained age 21, but be less than 35 years of age, possess a valid Ohio driver’s license, possess physical ability to perform essential functions of the job, and be a United States citizen. OPOTA certification not required to apply, but successful course completion and certification required prior to serving of probation period. Salary range is $62,067- $79,227/annually ($29.84-$38.09/hourly) plus time and a half for approved overtime work. Lateral transfer wage compensation is based on full-time law enforcement experience. Extra credit points may be added to final passing score for military service; a college degree; valid OPOTA Basic Peace Officer certification; service as an auxiliary with the City of Medina Police Department; or State of Ohio Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) Certification. To qualify for extra credit, proof of military service (DD214), copy of valid O.P.O.T.A. certification, official college transcript, or copy of EMT certification must be submitted with application.
