Anna Nicole is a big softie, a giant puppy in an adult pittie body who just wants to make her humans happy. She is wonderful and gentle with people, kids, and crowds, and would make a great companion for adventurers, families, and homebodies alike. She is 6 years old, roughly 80 pounds, and looking for a home without other furry friends! Help her find a new home after being at the shelter since February! 

Anna came in as a stray to the Española Humane shelter where we learned about her tough childhood, likely used as bait in dog fights but thrown away for not being aggressive. She has also had many litters. As a result, she has slight pink scars on her ears and face, but her heart (and eyes) are still big and loving. Despite being mistreated by humans through most of her puppy days, she still was excited to meet us, her current foster parents, and rolled over on our first meeting for belly scratches.

She picks up new tricks and cues quickly, going from knowing no tricks to sit, stay, here, and more, as she is so attentive to her humans! Anna never barks and remains calm indoors, and balances giving you puppy eyes for attention with giving you space. She is a sweetie, a couch potato, and a hiking dog all in one. She approaches new visitors eager for pets and attention, making a poor guard dog. 

As a foster dog, she enjoys lying by your side while you sit on a hammock and read outside, and keeps you company while you garden or watch Netflix. She loves the great outdoors and enjoys exploring with you on hikes in different terrains, an adventurous dog at heart. From the moment she meets you, she wants to be your friend.
