NOTICE OF REGULAR MUNICIPAL ELECTION
PUBLIC NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that a Regular Municipal Election will be held on Tuesday, April 4, 2023, and will be conducted by mail.
Said election shall be held for the purpose of electing two (2) City Council members to four (4) year terms. The duly nominated and qualified candidates are*:
Douglas Snow
Gilda Yazzie
Dave Woodruff
Harrison Wendt
Carter Rogers
* Names are listed in the order they will appear on the ballot
All persons who have attained the age of eighteen (18) years by April 4, 2023; who are registered electors of the City of Durango; who are United States citizens; and who are registered, active voters according to the records of the La Plata County Clerk, shall be mailed ballots starting on March 13, 2023.
Voters who do not receive a ballot may obtain one from the Durango City Clerk’s office beginning March 24, 2023.
ALL COMPLETED BALLOTS MUST BE RECEIVED BY THE LA PLATA COUNTY CLERK’S OFFICE BY 7 P.M. ON TUESDAY, APRIL 4, 2023 TO BE COUNTED. Return envelopes containing ballots must bear the signature of the voter. Completed ballots must be returned by either:
1)Affixing 55 cents postage and mailing the ballot in the pre-addressed ballot return envelope; or by
2) Delivering the ballot in its completed return envelope to:
1.City Clerk’s Office, Durango City Hall, 949 East Second Avenue, Durango
2.La Plata County Administration Building, 1101 E 2nd Ave, Durango
3.La Plata County Clerk & Recorder, 679 Turner Drive Suite C, Durango
4.Fort Lewis College Concert Hall, 1000 Rim Drive, Durango
5.La Plata County Fairgrounds, 2500 Main Avenue, Durango
One polling location will be available to voters wishing to cast their ballot in person. It will be located in the City Clerk’s office, 949 Second Avenue, and will be open from 8:00 A.M. to 3:00 P.M. weekdays beginning Monday, March 13, and ending Monday, April 3, 2023. On Election Day, April 4, 2023, the polling location will be available to voters from 7:00 A.M. to 7:00 P.M.
REMEMBER: ALL COMPLETED BALLOTS MUST BE RECEIVED BY 7 P.M. ON TUESDAY, APRIL 4, 2023, TO BE COUNTED.
