The Program Coordinator is a mid-level professional position responsible for member communications, administrative duties and program support. This position will handle the duties of the front office, and assist in the production of AML publications, market AML services, implement research projects; respond to requests from municipal members; assist with meeting arrangements; assist with Affiliate program membership; and other duties as assigned. This position is under the direct supervision of the Deputy Director.

Program Coordinator general duties:

  • 30%Database/Communications - Maintain and update AML lists of members, conference registrants; assist in distribution of AML communications.
  • 30%General Office Duties and Staff Support - Clerical/Front Office duties, answering the phone, assisting members, printing, mailings, meeting materials and packets, research, and other staff support as needed.
  • 25%Publications and Marketing - Assist in the development of AML print and online publications, and outreach materials.
  • 15%Website/Social Media - Assist with AML online presence, including the municipal classified postings, maintaining updates on Affiliate & Associate members, publications updates, news and advertising updates on the website and social media as needed.
  1. Responsible for maintaining the AML database and assisting with group communication.
  2. Handles basic reception, office duties, and providing staff support as needed.
  3. Assist in arranging and travel to the annual conference and other meetings.
  4. Market and respond to inquiries about advertising, membership and other AML services.
  5. Respond to basic information and research inquiries from members.
  6. Maintain and distribute resources – news, research, best practices, policy updates.
  7. Assist with all AML publications.

Qualifications and Experience:

  1. Good computer and word processing abilities are essential - Microsoft programs - Access, Excel, Word, Publisher; InDesign helpful; WordPress.
  2. Must be able to organize and implement a project in a well-organized, accurate, and efficient manner.
  3. Must be able to work effectively as a team member with other AML staff.
  4. Must have good oral and written communication skills.
  5. Must demonstrate strong creative customer service abilities.

Salary and Benefits: Annual salary base is $35,000 depending on experience.  Annual merit and COLA increase system. AML provides competitive benefits, including retirement, and health and disability insurance.
